This is a site about something on 4chan. If you don't know about 4chan, educate yourself and then promptly forget about it, because there may not be a chance to turn back.

This site is not safe for work, and possibly contains PROMOTIONS.

4chanhouse.org was created to host images from the dead board-tan project, the revived 4chan comic/anime project, and its associated images and stories. At bare minimum, this will be a central depository of a bunch of relevant images and words. If a dedicated team becomes interested in creating a 'canon' story with these characters, this site will serve as the home for that. As it currently stands, the team holding the reigns is dying from inactivity, so if you were here to see regular and consistent updates, you will be disappointed. All is not lost, however, because there are a lot of people, who may or may not become interested in putting forth herculean efforts to make an official story a reality. Until that time, enjoy reposts of fanart of fanart. If it wasn't enjoyable, this site would not exist. Read on for the history of this project and concept.

Most of this history is pulled out of my ass, and may or may not be accurate.

If anthropomorphisms (that are not necessarily furry) and odd crossover fanart (and porn of everything) are a new concept to you, you must be new to the Internet.

In 2008.2.19 4chan was expanded with nine new boards, one of which was /r9k/. The idea for /r9k/ came from Randall Munroe, the man behind XKCD: everything ever posted on /r9k/ was supposed to be original. Someone then created this image and posted it to /r9k/.

On 2008.10.11, the Large Hadron Collider was supposed to be fired for the first time, and moot, the administrator of 4chan made all user-posted text on /b/ filter to ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH. Of course, once /b/ becomes unusable (or the users of /b/ get bored enough) they start flooding the other boards on 4chan. The event was dramatized in a 15-page comic which was made into a flash animation. The comic personified /b/, /v/, /trv/, /a/, /5/, and included guest appearances from moot and WT Snacks.

Around that time (Autumn 2008), someone had the brilliant idea to anthropomorphize the boards of 4chan, put them in close proximity—say, into one or several houses—and write crazy fiction about it. Initially on /a/, /v/, and /co/, the board-tan project generated a vast amount of original content, but disbanded due to involved parties taking everything far too seriously and being unable to compromise, possibly because of vested interest in having a board be personified a certain way.

/tg/ took up the reigns, having 19 threads about this project, before a moderator or janitor decided that board anthropomorphisms were not /tg/-related and that such threads were fit for immediate deletion. The project moved off 4chan to plus4chan's /coc/ board, and the 1d4chan wiki. This site was created in early September of 2009, nearly a full year after the original concept was developed.

The original board-tan team disbanded, and the 4chan Anime team is inactive. But you are here and if you've read so far you are probably interested. Contribute!
